Deep Dive

TUDOR is a Swiss-made watch brand, offering mechanical watches with sophisticated style and proven reliability. The origins of TUDOR date back to 1926, when “The TUDOR” was first registered as a brand on behalf of Rolex founder, Hans Wilsdorf. Throughout their history, TUDOR watches have been chosen by the boldest adventurers and seasoned professionals alike.

The traditional art of hand craftsmanship

A TUDOR watch lives. Pulsates. It will take you into the world of micro-precision. The high technology in all components is relentlessly tested to the smallest detail… to the point of obsession. Examine the movement. Aesthetics and performance for the most demanding of products, designed for endurance as much as pleasure. Pleasing to the eye and exciting to the mind, this precision mechanism will withstand the rigours of time. Exceptional materials, durability and strength of design make each watch a unique object.

The Black Bay Fifty-Eight is named after the year in which the first TUDOR divers’ watch, the reference 7924, was introduced. Waterproof to 200 metres, it was dubbed the “Big Crown”. Among other aesthetic allusions to this famous historic watch, this model has a 39 mm diameter case, in keeping with the characteristic proportions of the 1950s.

Besides the Black Bay Fifty-Eight keeping with the dimensions of watches from the 1950s, it also features characteristic angular hands known to collectors as snowflake, which appeared in the brand’s 1969 catalogue. Similar to the first-generation TUDOR divers' watches to be waterproof to 200m (660 ft), it is fitted with the large winding crown. These aesthetic inclusions make the watch appeal to vintage enthusiasts and perfect for slim wrists.

About The Brand

TUDOR watches

The TUDOR signature is #BornToDare, reflecting both the brand history and what it stands for today. Created by the founder of Rolex, Hans Wilsdorf, the TUDOR Watch Company was born with a mission to explore new territories, offering “a watch that agents could sell at a more modest price than Rolex watches, and yet could attain standards of dependability”. Today, the collection of the award-winning Swiss-made watch brand currently includes flagship lines such as Black Bay, Pelagos, Glamour and TUDOR 1926, many of which are equipped with exclusive mechanical manufacture calibres.
